New research from internet giant Yahoo has revealed the majority of the site’s users who own iPads are wealthly, with nearly half also owning an iPhone.
As part of a series of data released about the gadget, the company found male iPad users outnumber women users two to one, Flickr use on the gadget is 143% higher than average and international traffic accounts for 10% of traffic, even though the iPad is only available in the US.
Additionally, the figures suggest the majority of users are in the 35-44 age category, and 94% of all Yahoo users on the iPad say the are considered affluent “with solid wealth and strong incomes”.
While these figures do not generally represent the overall iPad user population, it indicates the device is most popular with men and is more of a luxury purchase, rather than a “necessary” piece of gadgetry.
