Online payment company PayPal has announced a new mobile payments library development kit, allowing software engineers to add the company’s checkout functionality through separate applications.
The development kit is designed for us with the Apple iPhone and iPad devices, but the company says other operating systems will be given an update soon enough.
Eric Duprat, PayPay’s general manager for mobile, said in a blog post that adding the mobile payments system to an app will make it easier for users to buy products without leaving an app.
“The Mobile Payments Library is a quick and easy way to add checkout functionality for physical goods and services sold through apps on the iPhone, without having to worry about keeping customers’ personal financial information secure.”
Developers can download the development kit now.
