A new survey by tech company Skyhook Wireless has found developers for the Android mobile operating software are unhappy, and are moving back to iPhone apps development.
“We began hearing anecdotally of developers having problems,” Kate Imbach, Skyhook’s marketing vice president told Information Week. “They were complaining that their apps were getting buried. Now many are pausing their Android work and going back to work on the iPhone.”
The survey of 30 prominent developers found 57% were unhappy with apps profits, with only 4% saying they were “very satisfied”.
About 82% said the design of the Android Marketplace made it difficult for their applications to be noticed, while less than 10% said they had counted more than 10,000 downloads.
The developers also said that due to the number of new Android builds and handsets reaching the market, they feel anxious about spreading their development resources too thin in order to keep up.
