Apple Mac users have complained of new hardware problems in their devices and have taken to internet forums to voice their frustration.
Over 600 posts have now been registered on an Apple user forum regarding new technical problems, with the most prominent being a “flicker” or blackout that occurs when screens are switched on. The problem has been reported in a number of countries.
“Got my new iMac shipped from Shanghai the very day they launched. Was really excited but now really disappointed by this recurring problem… Sometimes the screen completely blacks out for 2-3 seconds on intervals of 5-6 secs and the machine becomes useless,” one user wrote.
“My problem is that the display seems to have this glitch. It happens mostly when I switch on after the display has been asleep for a while. Apple does not know what the problem is as I am on to them almost every day,” an Australian user commented.
Other forum users have cancelled orders due to the complaints. Even staff at prominent tech blog Engadget have reported problems with their devices.
Apple has so far refuse to comment on the issue, but has referred customers to its tech support line.
