Software giant Microsoft is set to release its biggest ever security update next Tuesday, with a number of patches to be released for every version of its Windows operating system.
The 13 updates are set to fix flaws in Internet Explorer, the Office suite, SQL Server and the Forefront Security client software. Eight of the updates are marked as “critical”, according to the company.
Additionally, one of the updates contains the final code of Windows 7, the upcoming operating system, in order to help users prepare for upgrades from the Windows Vista OS.
The 13 updates beats the company’s previous record, which saw 12 updates released in February 2007 and October 2008. Users are recommended to switch their automatic updates function to “on” in order to download the patches automatically.
