The pricing for the new windows operating system, Windows 7, has been confirmed – and already slammed by some for being too high.
For those users buying a new computer altogether until October, upgrades to Windows 7 will be completely free, besides shipping and handling costs.
But for those users upgrading from Vista or XP from an already purchased computer, Windows 7 is available in its Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate versions for $199, $399 and $429, respectively.
The prices go even higher for users buying the new operating system outright, with Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate versions costing $299, $449 and $459, respectively.
