Asus demonstrates transformable laptop, tablet and smartphone that runs both Windows and Android

Asus has demonstrated a smartphone that can transform into a laptop or tablet and runs both Windows and Android during the Computex 2014 trade show in Taiwan.

The device is a tablet with a detachable 12.5-inch HD IPS display tablet as a screen.

In turn, the tablet includes a 5-inch Android smartphone that can dock in the back, in a manner similar to the company’s PadFone devices.

The device can run either Windows 8.1 or Android 4.4 when configured as either a laptop or a tablet, in addition to coming with a dockable 4G Android smartphone.

The Taiwanese tech giant also unveiled a new high-performance notebook called the Transformer Book T300 Chi, with the device including what the company claims is the world’s thinnest detachable 12.5-inch tablet display.

Asus also demonstrated updates to its ASUS Fonepad and MeMO Pad tablets, along with new ultrabooks, all-in-one-PCs, routers and a 4K monitor during the show.
