And while we should definitely be keeping gender equality on the agenda 365 days of the year, I still believe that International Women’s Day is relevant in 2023 (and beyond). 

Each year, women have even more work added to their plates. They write editorials, organise and attend events, fight off internet trolls, and take hours out of their already busy lives to create awareness about a problem they never asked for in the first place… and then they are usually the ones who clean up after it all.

Many women of colour have been in environments where their story, journey or unique intersectional experiences have not been given a platform to be heard.
