If the latest filing against Apple goes ahead, it will mean each of the “big four” tech companies – Amazon, Meta, Google and Apple – will have been sued by the US federal government within the past five years for monopolistic business practices.

The lawsuit had been expected after years of complaints that Amazon.com and other tech giants abused their dominance.

The European Commission has come to a preliminary conclusion that Amazon breached antitrust rules, distorting competition in online retail.
