Some businesses may be updating their computer systems with Microsoft’s latest Office suite of software, but this version has some significant changes and users may not be familiar with all of the new features.
While users of Office 2007 may recognise many of the different features, new users may become confused by the new settings. Here are a few tips to help you customise your Office 2010 suite:
- Office 2010 changes how you view recently used files. To activate a quick list of recently opened files, go to Backstage View, then click “Recent” and add a checkbox next to the “Quickly access this number of recent documents”. You can change the number to how many documents you want to see.
- One of the more drastic changes added in Office 2007 was the use of the Ribbon. But you can actually customise this feature. Go to Backstage, Select “Customise Ribbon” and choose new tabs or rearrange them for your convenience.
Outlook 2010 lets you integrate your LinkedIn profile. Download the LinkedIn for Outlook app, available from the LinkedIn website. In Outlook, hit the View tab, then People Pane, and then move to Account Settings, and you will be able to log in and receive updates.
