A few days ago, the Tech Trick of the day was about disk defragmentation and how this in-built tool can help your computer run faster.
But if you feel you’ll forget to click on that defrag tool every now and then, there’s a simply way to automate the process so you never have to worry about it. Keep in mind this is only for Windows XP users – Windows Vista and Windows 7 users have their disk defrag occur every Wednesday at 1am, although they can change their schedule if they like.
Windows XP users need to go to the Control Panel, click on “Scheduled Tasks” and then “Add Scheduled Task”. The Wizard will guide you through the process.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 users need to click on “Start”, “All Programs”, “Accessories”, “System Tools” and then “Disk Defragmenter”. The “Configure Schedule” button will guide users to a wizard that will set them through the process.
