LISTEN: How a group of change-makers are altering perceptions of hacking

Angus Hervey wants to change the way the general public thinks of hacking.

This story can now be downloaded on iTunes.

“Every single picture of a hacker is someone in a hoodie hunched over a computer in a dark room, taking down corporations or the government,” Hervey says.

“But the original meaning of the word ‘hack’ is to use things to create a solution to a problem that hasn’t been created before.”

For the third episode of our new podcast, the Random Hacks of Kindness Australia founder sat down with StartupSmart to chat about why it’s important to change these perceptions and how the group is using hacking skills for good.
