Start-up social enterprise Thankyou has declared its social media campaign to get its products into the major supermarkets a success, with Woolworths now following the lead of Coles in agreeing to stock its products.
Thankyou markets products such as bottled water, food and bodycare products, with profits going to projects in developing countries. The Coles supermarket chain agreed to stock a range of its products on Monday.
Thankyou founder Daniel Flynn says in a statement this week’s success has been “a little surreal”.
“We’re absolutely thrilled and, to be honest, a little amazed at much support we have received from the Australian public in recent weeks,” he says.
Flynn and his team launched the campaign last week.
While neither Coles nor Woolworths will stock the bodycare products, Flynn says getting some of its water and food products onto supermarket shelves will have a huge impact on the funding of development projects in Africa and Asia.
