Using a blog to promote your business is often a tool of start-ups, and a blog is often used as the business itself. But while many users may have the know-how to register a blog on WordPress, they may not know how to actually choose a domain name for themselves.
Adding a domain to your WordPress account costs $US14.97 per year, while moving a domain that you already own to your WordPress blog costs $US9.97 per year.
First, go to your dashboard, click on the “Upgrades” option in the sideboard and then click “Domains”. Enter the domain you want and then click “Add Domain to blog”. You’ll then need to enter some details like your name, address and phone number.
Then you’ll be taken to the checkout counter. You can pay through any type of credit card or PayPal, and you’ll then be returned to the domains page. Your page should now work – when people visit the old URL, they will be directed to the new site.
