Richard Branson has named Australian entrepreneur Holly Ransom as the person he believes will be a global force for the future.
Along with other powerful tech leaders like Melinda Gates, Branson was recently asked by Wired to choose one person in his sector who he believes will be among the “the innovators and icons” of tomorrow.
“There were plenty of people that I could have named, but I decided to suggest Holly Ransom, CEO of millennial consultancy Emergent,” Branson said in a Virgin blogpost.
In addition to leading Emergent, a disruptive marketing agency, Ransom co-chairs the United Nations Global Coalition of Young Women Entrepreneurs and is a director of the Port Adelaide Football Club.
“She is already having a significant impact today, and will go on to do a lot more tomorrow,” Branson said.
Branson believes Ransom’s efforts with the United Nations are helping to break down “barriers stopping women becoming successful entrepreneurs on a global basis, and particularly in the developing world”.
“We have crossed paths at a number of events, and she has thoroughly impressed me with her knowledge, poise and new ideas. I suspect you’ll be hearing from her in the future as more and more female CEOs come to the fore, changing business for good,” Branson said.
