As more of us choose to work, travel or move interstate, we’re often forced to pack up our belongings and leave them behind due to the lack of available storage space.
However, US-based business StorageByMail aims to change that by allowing clients to send their possessions through the mail to the company’s central warehouse for flexible offsite storage.
Customers begin by creating an account and an online description of any package of goods they’d like to send into storage. Next, they print a custom, prepaid shipping label for each box they’d like to send.
There’s even a mobile app to send a label to the nearest fax machine. Either way, the labels ensure safe passage for the goods through the postal service to the warehouse.
When the customer wants them back, he or she simply requests return delivery and the company will ship them out the next business day.
People don’t want to be tied down with possessions when they’re not using them, and quality storage space can be a hard to come by.
A facility like the one offered by StorageByMail, coupled with seamless service, could possibly be a prime start-up idea for anyone looking to cash in on our increasingly nomadic lifestyle.
