Washing your wine glasses can be risky business, especially if you’re using a dishwasher – it doesn’t take much to lose a glass due to a poorly packed load.
Thankfully, the Tether Stemware Saver, from New York-based company Quirky, is a flexible plastic rod that stabilises stemware as it goes through a cycle in the dishwasher.
The Tether Stemware Saver, which comes in a pack of four, has a hollow base that slides over the dishwasher post, and an end clasp that clips onto the wine glass stem.
Users can adjust the rod to fit the glass on either the top or bottom rack of their dishwasher.
The purple tubes are small enough to leave installed permanently inside the dishwasher and, at $15 for a set, they cost less than a couple of decent glasses.
For anyone who likes to entertain, but finds themselves churning through wine glasses like there’s no tomorrow, this could be a cost-effective solution.
What other innovations might lengthen the lifespan of glassware and kitchen utensils?
