There’s a new urban gardening trend that’s greening up both private balconies and shared city spaces. In essence, nature is being injected into the stark metropolitan landscape.
The Dutch Flower Council recently set up four giant plant-filled displays in Paris, treating residents and tourists to a large dose of greenery in one spot.
In four prominent Paris locations, four transparent bubbles were put in place for people to walk through. Each one was filled with a wide variety of indoor plants.
Each pop-up garden had a different theme and was only big enough for two visitors at a time, creating a private and intense sensory experience.
Pop-up products and services, such as restaurants and retail stores, are beginning to catch on in Australia. However, the idea of plant-themed pop-ups in this country is still, pardon the pun, green.
A pop-up nursery, for example, is one start-up idea that could be developed anywhere and taken everywhere. Or you could follow in the footsteps of the Dutch Flower Council and come up with something purely for visitors’ viewing pleasure.
