A developer has created an app that calculates the day some women dread: The day when they become infertile.
Mira Kaddoura, of Portland in Oregon, says she created The Wonder Clock to empower other women and help them face their fears about fertility.
All the app requires is a woman’s birth date. It then calculates the years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds until the woman can no longer bear children.
“I created this clock to face my own fears. To beckon the elephant in the room so to speak. To release my own power, my own choices,” Kaddoura says.
“To open a dialogue with other women about fertility, empowerment and loving ourselves. We are women, and we are ticking. But we are so much more.”
An app such as The Wonder Clock speaks to the increasing number of women who are choosing to put off motherhood until later in life. Are there other ways in which you can appeal to them?
