How Evercleaner started

Evercleaner is an impact-driven cleaning and body care company, with co-founders Benjamin Seer and Casper Rogalla on a mission to eliminate all single-use plastics from Australian households. Coming from backgrounds in food manufacturing and e-commerce, Seer and Rogalla were deeply concerned about the excessive use of plastic in product manufacturing, packaging and shipping. Through Evercleaner, they began developing solutions to reduce plastic consumption.

Their journey began by replacing traditional plastic cleaning bottles with tabs and reusable bottles. Soon after, they rolled out plastic-free concentrated laundry detergent sheets, hand wash and dishwashing liquid. Evercleaner places itself on the frontlines against plastic pollution and health issues caused by microplastics.

Growth

Unsurprisingly, Evercleaner has been a hit among eco-conscious consumers, and has seen rapid growth in just two short years. But with the company being entirely self-funded and set up to operate as lean as possible, maintaining cash flow can be a struggle.

To address this challenge, Seer and Rogalla have adopted cash-effective strategies, such as partnering with a contractor to establish their warehouse, focusing on understanding unit economics and retention rates, listening to customer feedback to improve existing products and identify new demands, and optimising the performance of marketing content.

Where to next

Evercleaner is only just getting started. Off the back of seriously positive customer feedback, impressive revenue growth and high product ratings, it plans to launch two new product lines in the next 12 months and, ultimately, increase monthly revenue over $500,000.

As it has been since the beginning, Evercleaner’s journey will be guided by a shared commitment to reduce single-use plastics and encourage more environmentally friendly choices from everyday Australians.

Evercleaner was shortlisted for The Sustainability Award at The Smart50 Awards 2023.
