How Truckit started

Robert Russell was working in logistics in the UK for 10 years before returning, with a vision, to Australia – a country so vast and fragmented it needed a freight tech marketplace.

In 2013 he launched Truckit, aiming to make transporting big items easier by connecting businesses with customers.

Growth

Truckit now boasts more than 600,000 shipper accounts on its platform, with $60 million of transactions completed and 6500 providers signed on.

As the company has grown, it has shifted away from a consumer focus and towards fleet services, with more than half of its revenue now coming from the B2B space.

Where to next

Having won the trust of transport providers and customers, the business next wants to launch instant pricing driven by AI into a wider market.

Then it is tackling the ‘big and ugly’ freight space, partnering with major retailers and shopping carts to solve the final frontier in e-commerce.
