How Kings of Neon started

Kings of Neon was founded by Stephen Pastor in 2019, spun out from an events company. First offering custom neon signs with quotes for weddings, it has since moved beyond just weddings to major corporate clients, such as Mcdonald’s and Amazon Prime, and it holds the Australian licence for Call of Duty by Activision.

Growth

From $770,000 in 2021-22, Kings of Neon has since increased revenue by more than 200% on average for the past three years.

That’s brought Kings of Neon’s revenue to $4.6 million in the past financial year, all despite challenges of marketing, costs, inflation, and a deteriorating US dollar.

Where to next

Pastor wants to deepen Kings of Neon’s reach into the US and UK markets, and is collaborating with tech experts to create its sign design AI.

Having mastered e-commerce, the company will next consider wholesale and bricks-and-mortar collaborations.
