Business today requires you to process greater amounts of information than ever before. Being able to make clear, fast and accurate decisions on-demand has never been more important. Developing your intuitive muscle is your key to making even better decisions to grow and scale your business.

Intuition is connecting and listening to your inner self, your body and your experiences more than ever before. It’s an inner knowing — a feeling in your heart and gut that something feels right or wrong. You just know it deep within you. As you develop your intuition, you can hear and feel your intuition speaking and guiding you. Softly at first, and then becoming louder as your most trusted friend and confidant.

Follow this simple five-step process to help you grow your business by using your intuition to make even better decisions.

1. Acknowledge

Harvard Medical School tells us: “Stress puts the body and the mind on edge. It floods the body with stress hormones. The heart pounds. Muscles tense. Breathing quickens. The stomach churns.”

Stress, anxiety and overthinking, especially for small business owners, entrepreneurs and business leaders, is the major stumbling block to growing a business.

Now is the time to listen to your intuition, to your own truth and values, and to grow your business in a more authentic way, aligned with your greatest passions and your vision.

You have to first honestly own where you are at right now, for better or worse, so you can listen to your intuition and make better decisions than ever before.

2. Clear

The first way to make wise decisions is to make sure you have cleared your mind so you have as much clarity as possible.

This starts by taking some time out to be still. It can be as little as a few minutes. You can do this sitting anywhere quietly or even lying down. This is the time to allow all of your thoughts to come up: positive, negative and neutral.

The next step is to scan your body from head to toe and allow your emotions to surface: positive, negative and neutral.

Once you have followed these steps, with no judgment, it’s time to take a few deep breaths and let go of your thoughts and your emotions and ground yourself into the earth.

If you want the best out of your intuition, then the few minutes you take out to get clear is critical. It can maximise your return on your time and results.

3. Love

It’s now time to raise your energy by deeply feeling your heart. Does it feel light, does it feel heavy, does feel blocked, does it feel numb?

Now think of someone or something you love unconditionally. A child, a partner, your parents, your best friend or your favourite animal.

Now breath in and raise your loving vibration in your heart with love for yourself. When you make your decisions based on love for yourself, instead of fear, you will attract the best possible outcome for you and your business.

4. Decide

Now consider your most important decision for the day and ask yourself, does it feel best to work with this client or not? Should we expand the business this year and invest or grow slower with more structure?

You can also check in to see how your gut feels. Does your gut feel light or does it feel heavy?

5. Courage

Now you know what is the best decision and way forward to grow your business, it is about having the confidence and courage to follow your decision and your intuition.

Remember you can always tune in with your intuition again and change your mind if conditions change. Your intuition (your heart) is telling you what is best for you today. You can tune in again tomorrow, in a week or a month’s time, to ensure you are on the right course.
