Bad guys try to use their power to manipulate the room. This is where Power Players need to step in and use their own power for good.
There’s little point in having power unless you are willing to step in when the bad guys get drunk with their own.
Bullies often use power because they bet that few powerful people would have the guts to stand up to them – easier to let it go and not make any waves than to shut them down.
Sadly, this is usually true. When it’s warranted and justified, great Power Players stop misguided power.
If you’ve got it, use it. And let the room know that wayward power – especially when used as a bullying tactic – will not be tolerated.
