Power Play: Quash the power you give to rejection

Power Players don’t ever give too much energy to rejection. They live by the philosophy that when one door closes, another door opens.

Most of us lose ourselves so completely and totally when we are rejected. We spend countless hours wondering what we did wrong and focusing on every single one of our flaws.

Power Players don’t give rejection a choice, and instead see it as an opportunity to go in another direction. Rather than dwell on all the things that haven’t happened, focus on all the things that could happen.

Look at new horizons rather than the roads that didn’t lead anywhere.

Most of all, Power Players know that rejection is something that happens to us all and the time and energy we might give to it is wasted. Better to focus on the new door that opens.

The story

“Balding, skinny, can dance a little.” That’s what they said of Fred Astaire at his first audition. Talk about rejection. We’ve all got a rejection story and we all need to do what Fred Astaire did. Just keep dancing.
