Frank Sinatra once sang “Regrets, I’ve had a few”. Power Players do an excellent job of having none. They see it as a colossal waste of time and energy.
Power Players have a wonderful sense of time – and just how quickly it passes. And it is for this reason that they jump right over the stuff that doesn’t work out without spending a single second looking in the rear-view mirror.
It is an astonishing talent and one that very, very few of us have. Regrets come with the requisite narratives that are played over and over in one’s head. What if I’d done this? What if I’d said that? What if? What if? I should have taken that road or made that decision…
Regrets can slowly kill a person. Because Power Players have a spectacular sense of the passing of time, they are very, very good at not wasting any. One useful trick that Power Players have in their back pocket is to give a potential regret a starring role for exactly one night. After that the show closes.
