Power Play: Powerful people have a Plan B

Power Players always make sure they have an alternative plan in their back pocket. Just in case things go south.

Many of us contemplate a Plan B but we never quite get to it. Make sure you do. Power Players always make sure.

It needs to be more than a loose sketch. It needs to be a solid plan capable of getting you out of any situation you find yourself in if your Plan A doesn’t work out.

The trick to a good Plan B is that you play the tape through to the end and work out exactly where it takes you.

You need to make sure that you are comfortable with the alternative. If you’re not, then it’s not a Plan B – it’s a Hail Mary and this is the last thing you want.

Great Power Players know the difference between a solid Plan B and some sketchy thoughts that masquerade as a plan but never amount to anything more.
