Power Play: Never argue with a drunk or a fool

This is old-school advice. You’ll hear it from anyone over the age of 60. OK – over 70.

And it’s excellent advice Power Players learn early on in their careers. Professional disagreements (also known as arguments) can only happen with people who are sane and sober.

Power Players know never to get into an argument with an unreasonable, scrambled – or drunk mind. There are people who simply can’t handle a disagreement. Power Players can smell one as soon as they enter a room.

Even if the fool (or drunk) baits them, they sidestep the argument because it will inevitably descend into an abyss of crazy.

Power Players can size up the other guy pretty quickly and they don’t even try to engage. Never ever argue with a drunk or a fool. It will save you at least once a month.
