Shrewd Power Players always have a Plan B in their back pocket. An exit strategy or a trap door if things go south.
A Plan B should never be openly discussed. The theory is that you’ll never have to use it. But it needs to be in place all the same. The best Power Players rarely have to use Plan B. But when they do, they can activate it immediately and in the moment.
The lesson from Power Players is this: have a contingency plan in place for that proverbial rainy day. Every time you go into a situation that needs a well thought out strategy, always have a plan in your back pocket, just in case things go contrary to the way you’ve planned. This is Plan B and it’s smart and cool and prepared. The best Power Players never walk into a room without one.
