Roger and Lesley Gillespie, co-founders and joint-chief executives of bakery franchise Bakers Delight, will be inducted into Swinburne University of Technology’s Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE) Hall of Fame on Thursday evening.
Roger and Lesley Gillespie, co-founders and joint-chief executives of bakery franchise Bakers Delight, will be inducted into Swinburne University of Technology’s Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE) Hall of Fame on Thursday evening.
Also inducted on the night will be Leon Serry, founder and former managing director of biotechnology company Circadian Technologies, Lyn Swinburne, founder and chief executive of Breast Cancer Network Australia, and Rob Adams, the director of design and culture at the City of Melbourne.
AGSE director Russell Kenley, says the Hall of Fame is designed to showcase entrepreneurial skill and talent and recognise the value of entrepreneurship not only in the business world but in the social, government and scientific spheres.
“In our view entrepreneurship is not just about financial gain but about innovation and change that has a lasting impact on society,” Kenley says. “We have selected entrepreneurs whose stories will excite interest in entrepreneurship.”
Previous inductees include ResMed founder Peter Farrell, LookSmart founder Evan Thornley and retirement industry figure Zig Inge.
