Festival time

Okay everyone, It’s time to put your head up from the relentless gruelling winter and do something different. Why? It’s the end of July! That’s why.

It’s not just that it’s been a bugger of a month for many companies. But the end of July always signals the coming of spring, particularly in Melbourne where fragile blossoms and rambunctious wattles distract anyone from being too gloomy for long.

For those of us who have been hibernating, it is also a time to reflect on new opportunities, and a good way to do this is to tune into small business festival season in Australia.

Victoria kicks off today with its launch of its month long festival, Energise Enterprise at Federation Square. And Sydney follows suit in September. Organisers were nervous that numbers might be down as people continued to hibernate. But it appears from early bookings that the mood is shifting, something which should cheer up all event organisers.

In Melbourne we’re hosting a few events, kicking off with a webinar on Tuesday on the latest tips on Twitter. Then I am going to be chatting to entrepreneur Suzi Daphnis who runs Australian BusinessWomen’s Network about how she uses Twitter and other social networking opportunities to promote her business.

We are also doing a few Sydney events and will let you know when they have been finalised.

So this weekend, book a few events and get ready to network.

See you there!
