Sifting through job applicants searching for the right fit for your company can be a tedious process, with one cover letter blending into the next after a while.
The Sun reports one UK-based job applicant took her job application above and beyond in a bid to land a job at a popular marketing agency.
Tim Hyde, head of campaigns at Social Chain, posted a photo on LinkedIn of the job application, claiming he was “absolutely blown away”.
Arriving in a specialised gift box, the application included five inspirational quotes created from Hyde’s tweets, a “50 things you need to know” fact sheet about the applicant, an example marketing blog post in a mini magazine format, and dog treats.

Social Chain’s offices have two dogs, and the application also included temporary tattoos featuring each of the dogs.
Finally, inside the box were a selection of marshmallows, imprinted with pictures of Hyde from his Instagram page.
“She’d done all the designs herself. The marshmallows had pictures of myself and my girlfriend on them. That took me back a bit,” Hyde told The Sun.
“It’s one of the most creative applications we’ve ever seen. It was very cool.”
Social Chain has three offices in New York, Manchester, and Berlin, and employs around 80 people. Its clients include Apple Music and ASOS.
Users on LinkedIn praised the application, labelling it “brilliant”.
“I’m thinking this is a creative application from an artistic mind for an industry that calls for it! Employ now ??,” wrote one commenter.
However, Hyde told The Sun the applicant wasn’t a shoo-in just yet. Whilst the application definitely got the her foot in the door, the company is “still in the process of deciding who gets the job”.
