Aunty B! I need more revenue!
We have just done some figures and worked out that if we do eight face-to-face meetings a week it converts into enough sales to meet budget – of which we are already behind and it’s only July!
Any quick ideas to get money in the door now and any ideas to build on for the long-term? And Aunty, the biggie – when are things going to turn around?
Need help,
Melbourne
Dear Need help,
Well, you just answered your own question you dill. A short-term revenue idea? Hit the phones. As a team. The aim is to organise a lot of face-to-face meetings. Set up a prize, get a pen and a whiteboard, go and see who by the end of a morning has set up the most meetings. Then after two weeks have another prize for those who converted. Send out special offers, set up family and friends, look at what has worked previously in times of stress.
Longer term? Here is a list I have nicked from the great Tom McKaskill.
- Repeat purchases: how do you make sure the customer buys again? How do you measure repeat buys?
- Shorter time between purchases. How do you get your client to use more of the product or use it more of the time?
- Additions and supplements: how can additional value be generated for the existing customer that will increase the price paid at each purchase?
- Can additional value be created around the product through the buying cycle or in the product experience that will increase loyalty of additional purchases?
- Complementary products: what related products might the existing customer buy that can be leveraged from the positive experience of the original purchase?
- What other territories could the product be marketed into that could drive future revenue?
- What strategic relationships could be developed that could generate new leads?
- What other companies might resell your brand into their customer base?
Do the short-term immediately.
Set up strategic working groups to work on a longer-term plan.
