Dear Aunty B,
I have an online business and have been relying on my website and Google to drive traffic. But the growth is slowing.
The other problem I have is that I am realising the people Google are driving to my site aren’t the big spenders or the right types. What should I do?
Joy,
Fitzroy
Dear Joy,
So you are from the traditional small business school of “Build it and they will come”. Do you know in the old days before the internet came along, we used shoe leather instead of Google juice. What I mean by that is we focused on developing channels to market: Which groups can we talk to? What can we offer them to get the message out? What partnerships can we form that will help get our brand in front of the right people? What networks can we join that will facilitate the dissemination of our content, our products and services?
Focus on building your channels to market that target the right people and then look at how online campaigns can assist that. So get up from your computer and start having coffee and lunch.
Be smart,
Your Aunty B
