Television subscription service TiVo is set to hit Australia soon, but additions to the service will allow Australians to order products and services through the device.
While the falling dollar will push up the price of the device, it will launch with an online movie store and the ability to order pizza, check flight information and book a restaurant table among other features.
The digital video recorder will also be able to transfer recordings from the device to a computer, and will come with one terabyte of storage.
Australian TiVo chief Robbee Minicola says she expects big sales: “I can say with my hand over my heart that we are more than three times the sales per month of the top brand PVR [personal video recorder] model that existed before we started.”
