A green font to write in

There seems to be no end to the extent to which companies are willing to go green their business.

Springwise reports that a Dutch creative agency Spranq has developed a new “green” font called the Ecofont, which is designed to extend the life of ink cartridges and toner.

In order to create the font the group experimented to find out how much of a letter can be removed before the font is no longer readable.

They decided the best way to go was to leave tiny holes in each letter, resulting in a font that Spranq describes as being like Dutch holey cheese.

Here’s a sample:

The font is free to download and use.
