The winners of one of Australia’s longest-running small business awards will be revealed tonight, with the full list of Smart50 winners and category award recipients to be unveiled at an awards ceremony in Melbourne.
Harking back to 2007, SmartCompany‘s Smart50 Awards highlight the fastest-growing small- to medium-sized businesses in Australia, tracking their revenue growth over three years and ranking them in descending order.
The awards will be presented at restaurant and event space Longsong, and has been sponsored by ANZ, Oracle Netsuite, AusTrade and Konica Minolta. To be eligible for the Smart50 Awards, companies must have recorded revenue of more than $500,000, and achieved revenue growth, during the past three financial years.
In previous years, notable businesses such as Prospa, Vinomofo, Showpo and Lux Group have graced the Smart50 stage, with local tech success story Atlassian taking home the number one spot in 2007.
Awards will also be presented for businesses in the Top Franchise, Top Retailer, Top Exporter, Top Innovator, Community Hero, Top Marketer and Top Regional categories, each being picked by an experienced panel of judges. The Smart & Lasting award will be presented to a finalist that has appeared on the Smart50 list for multiple, consecutive years.
And for the first time this year, the StartupSmart Award has been added to the Smart50 to recognise Australia’s fastest growing startups, who have demonstrable growth when it comes to revenue or user numbers. The winning startup must also demonstrate internal innovation and growth.
The full list of winners, including their growth and revenue figures, will be published on the SmartCompany website tonight and a special Smart50 newsletter will be sent on Friday morning.
In the meantime, check out last year’s winners here.
