Ace post, Naomi. As a specialist recruitment ad writer, I’m more interested than most to see how the great talent exodus/shortage/swap meet pans out.
Any employers who fail to follow your excellent advice and find themselves bereft of staff may well end up crossing my path. Great for me and my mortgage, but a great waste of time, money and effort for them.
Firms would do much better to look after their top staff now than waste tens of thousands of dollars on copywriting, advertising, recruitment, induction, training and error-riddled learning curves.
In short, you speak the truth!
