A manufacturer of gourmet dog biscuits that supplied national retail chains including David Jones and Petbarn has collapsed into liquidation.
Manfred Holzman of Holzman Associates was appointed as liquidator of Gavstag Pty Ltd, trading as Delibones Barkery, on December 29.
Holzman told SmartCompany Delibones had already ceased trading by the time he was appointed as liquidator and the company no longer has any employees.
Holzman says Delibones Barkery collapsed as it “lost its customer base and was no longer viable” but he has received expressions of interest from a number of parties interested in buying the company’s assets.
Sydney-based Delibones Barkery manufactured a range of gourmet dog biscuits, free of artificial colourings, flavourings and preservatives. While the Delibones website says the company was founded in 2001, Holzman says the business began manufacturing dog biscuits in 2005.
The biscuits were stocked in hundreds of retailers across the country, including specialist pet retailers such as Petbarn and department store David Jones. Holzman was unable to specify the company’s annual turnover.
The first meeting of creditors is scheduled to take place in Sydney on Friday, January 16.
