All remaining Dick Smith stores will close their doors by May 3, the electronic chain’s receivers announced today.
This means all stores have now been notified of their closure dates, giving employees certainty about their last day on the job.
James Stewart, partner at Ferrier Hodgson, said in a statement he would like to thank all staff for their patience.
“We would like to thank the Dick Smith employees for their support during the receivership,” Stewart said.
“This has been a difficult and uncertain time for them and we have really appreciated their assistance and commitment.”
All outstanding Australian employee entitlements are considered priority unsecured claims, and are expected to be paid out in full by mid-June.
