nocommission.com.au offers to do much of the leg work associated with selling a property for a flat fee instead of the usual commission.

They will list your property on online real estate websites, co-ordinate signage, arrange for brochures to be printed and ads made and even conduct negotiations on your behalf.

All the home owner has to do is arrange and manage their own home openings – and fork out the flat fee of $1295 upfront and $2700 if and when the property sells.

This compares with a real estate commission of $15,000 to $20,000 on a $600,000 house, before advertising and other fees, nocommission.com.au claims.

Of course, in the current relatively depressed property climate, home sellers will need to make their own judgement about the services of a traditional, and if an on-the-ground agent increases their chances of making a sale.

The company has been set up by Harry Brigden, a former executive with online stockbroking firm Etrade Australia.

“With the internet playing a major part in the process of buying and selling property, consumers can now search and find properties that match their own criteria without needing to contact an agent,” Brigden says.
