Electronics retailer JB Hi-Fi has now begun selling computers manufactured by Dell, joining other large retailers including Dick Smith and Officeworks.
Chief executive Richard Uechtritz told The Australian the company began selling Dell-branded computers on December 1, with the products to be available in over 120 stores.
“We started selling Dell on December 1,” Uechtritz said. “It’s still early days but sales have been encouraging… we’re happy to put them [Dell] on,” he said.
Uechtritz also said consumer spending has been higher in the current sales period than during last year’s corresponding period.
“This time last year we were in the middle of the global financial crisis. Now though there’s a lot more consumer confidence and people are spending more.”
