The Vodafone/Hutchison merger has been approved and completed, which has led several telco analysts to ponder over whether Hutchison’s 3 will now offer the Apple iPhone 3G.
Some clues have been delivered on 3’s website, with the original iPhone page now delivering an error message.
But more importantly, the original URL has now been replaced with: https://store.three.com.au/Apple-iPhone-3G-Coming-Soon.
The site may be referring to new plans for the iPhone 3G and not the device itself. But it may be preparing to offer the original iPhone 3G on cheaper plans, along with offering the new iPhone 3G S under its existing Vodafone brand.
