Canon Australia set for management reshuffle

Canon Australia and its New Zealand counterpart is set for a shakeup of its senior management over the coming months, with a key local manager to be promoted to a senior executive role in the photocopier and imaging giant.

Canon Australia managing director Taz Nakamasu, who oversaw the acquisitions of SunStudios and Harbour IT, will take an executive position with the company’s Japanese parent company on April 1, following a four-year tenure in Australia.

In turn, the current managing director of Canon New Zealand, Yusuke Mizoguchi, will take on the role of managing director for Canon Australia and Canon Oceania.

The reshuffle will also see Kim Connor take over the role Canon New Zealand’s managing director. A seven-year veteran of the company, Connor previously served as a senior executive at Schwarzkopf Professional and Philip Morris International.

Connor also becomes the first female managing director for Canon in the Oceania region.

“Everyone who works in the Canon Oceania region has tremendous respect for what Taz Nakamasu and his team have achieved during his tenure. I take on a business that is truly in great shape,” Mizoguchi said in a statement.
