Speech-recognition software maker Nuance Communications has held discussions with potential buyers, sources told The Wall Street Journal.
Samsung and a range of private equity firms are said to have been involved in the discussions. It’s unknown whether or not a deal will take place.
The company develops voice-powered technology in mobile phones, televisions and GPS devices.
Its voice and language technology is used in Apple’s Siri as well as Samsung handsets, televisions and tablets, and will soon be used in its wearable devices.
Grocery startup Instacart raises $44 million
Grocery delivery startup Instacart wants to expand to every city in the United States and has raised $44 million in Series B funding in order to accomplish that.
It comes roughly a year after its last round of funding and brings the total capital raised by the company to $55 million.
Google Glass announces Glass at Work Certified Partners
The tech giant has been searching for developers who are creating Glassware to help businesses.
The companies selected for this first round are APX, Augmedix, Crowdoptic, GuidGO and Wearable Intelligence.
They come from a broad range of industries including media, health, sport and entertainment.
