THE NEWS WRAP: Apple moves to win back customers by cutting refund times

Apple is cutting refund times in half in an attempt to lift online sales.

The move is an expensive one and is hoped to get more people to buy products direct from Apple’s website, rather than through other online stores.

Refund times have been reduced from 10 days to less than a week.

Twitter adds a mute button

The social media giant has announced in the coming weeks it will be rolling out a mute option.

In a blog announcing the move Twitter explained muting a user will means their tweets and retweets will no longer be visible in your home timeline and you will no longer receive push or SMS notifications from that user.

The muted user will not know that you’ve muted them and you can unmute at any time.

No more Square Wallet

Square has pulled the Square Wallet app from the Apple and Google app stores.

The app was launched three years ago and hoped to make picking up the bill at restaurants and cafes easier, it allowed users to pay for purchases at restaurants and coffee shops by checking into the store via the app.

In its place, Square has launched new app, Square Order, which allows users to order and pay for items from stores listed in the app, so they can simply wander in and pick up their purchases.
