The global internet domination of Google continues unabated after one US company has dropped its trademark infringement lawsuit against the internet search giant.
American Blind & Wallpaper Factory, a reseller of window blinds, alleged that Google allowed its rivals to bid for and buy its trademark terms so that the rival’s ad appears when consumers search the web for information on it, thereby abusing its trademarks.
The company was worn down after four years of litigation against the giant. The settlement, which has both parties paying their own legal costs, is just one of a number of trademark suits in both US and Europe. Not all have ended in victory for Google.
The reseller was forced to agree that it would not assist other companies sue Google for trademark infringement.
