Research In Motion has confirmed that it will stop viewing of pornographic content on its devices in Indonesia.
The decision comes after the company has dealt with both Saudi Arabian and Indian officials, after both countries wanted the firm to restrict the amount of data available on its products.
According to a report from Bloomberg, RIM is talking with phone carriers in order to come to a “prompt, compliant filtering solution”.
The country’s IT minister, Tifatul Sembiring, has said that the company has until January 21 to block the content or face repercussions.
Indonesia requested ISPs and other content providers restrict access to pornographic material, following appropriate legislation being passed in 2008.
