Business partner “not involved” in the disappearance of businessman Craig Puddy

Police are continuing to hunt for clues in the mysterious disappearance of Perth businessman Craig Puddy, who vanished from his home last Tuesday leaving behind a pool of blood.

But Puddy’s business partner Cameron Mansell, who invested in a Perth pub with Puddy, has denied involvement in the millionaire’s disappearance after he was questioned by police for 15 hours over the weekend.

Puddy, a former director of forklift company Merlo Group Australia, was reported missing on May 4 by his sister, just a day after he resigned from Merlo.

He was set to move to Sydney to start a new business in the forklift sector, but when removalists turned up to his home last Tuesday that found it empty.

Mansell’s four-wheel-drive was later found burned out and police are still searching for a wheelie bin taken from Puddy’s home.

Police were door-knocking around Puddy’s home yesterday and are continuing to scour his home and rivers around his property for clues.

“We’re just trying to look everywhere. All possibilities are being considered,” Detective Senior Sergeant Greg McDonald from Perth Police’s Major Crime Squad’s said yesterday.

Following Mansell’s release on Saturday, his lawyer released a statement saying that he was not involved in Puddy’s disappearance.

The pair are investors in a Perth pub which has reportedly been put up for sale after hitting financial problems.

Puddy’s home is also on the market for $3.2 million.
