GE plans to quadruple Australian staff

The American company, GE, plans to quadruple its Australian workforce, its global CEO and chairman, Jeff Immelt, has told The Australian newspaper.GE is one of the biggest global companiers, with revenue of around $140 billion. Immelt, who is in Australia, says his company hopes for a big uplift in business from the liquified natural gas projects here, and is also introducing an online maintenance of plants. It has secured a  US620 million contract with BG Group’s Queensland Curtis LNG plant in Gladstone, and announced another $US1.6 billion in local projects last year.
